A standard Schengen visa for a journey of up to 90 days is a short-stay visa, where a permit for work, study, or family reunification is required for a longer stay. A repeat visa is also available if you intend to travel regularly to the Schengen area.

The visa must be applied for no more than six months and at least 15 days before the trip. You must complete your application, pay the fee, and obtain all the documents necessary to obtain an Italian visa,

What are the Required Italy Visa Documents for UK Residents?

The following documents are required to obtain an Italian short-term Schengen visa.

  • Online Italian Visa Application Form: Fill out the application form correctly and completely.
  • Two identical Passport-Sized Photographs: The photographs must be passport-sized- a recent whole-face capture with a light background.
  • Valid passport/Travel document: Valid for at least 3 months beyond your planned date of departure. It must not be older than 10 years. In addition, it must have at least two blank pages.
  • A cover letter: A letter in which you explain the purpose of your trip to Italy and give a detailed travel plan.
  • Round-trip Flight itinerary: Contains the dates and flight numbers specifying entry and exit from Italy.
